ΝΑΥΠΛΙΟ (Nafplio)

We have been lazy layabouts these past few days, and have found a brilliant place to do, essentially, nothing. Nafplio is a seaside town with a lot of fortresses, and we have spent most of the past two days in our togs. Daniel has turned into a sun worshipper, trying to get rid of his white T shirt look.

A great thing about this place (one great thing at least) is there is no traffic!!! Most of the places we have gone to the traffic has been insane. Nafplio makes a VERY nice change.

The place we are staying in is fabulous. The same price as two dormbeds (in Italy) with awesome views (yay things are getting cheaper!)

On the balcony of our fabulous pension...and one of the fortresses...

Although this place goes off in summer, it is sort of in its low season. When we went to the beach one morning, the average age of the beach bunnies was about 60 (the average age drops in the afternoon)

Check out the beach bunnies...and the brown buddha in a mexican hat on the rocks...

Daniel's white t shirt...

That he is trying to get rid of:

(the beaches are pebbley, which makes a nice change from getting sand on/in everything as soon as you sit down)

One day we climbed the 999 steps (locals claim) up to the Palamid Fortress:

This place is lovely, and we are sad to go. I have also discovered here that I am completely in love with the Greek salad...and the perfect meal is tzaktziki and fresh pita with greek salad. YUUUM! You can also eat masses and still feel virtuous. I like!
